Douglas Earl Spear

Peacefully at his residence, surrounded by his family, Douglas Earl Spear of Bethel, N.B. Born in Blacks Harbour NB on October 21, 1952, he was the son of the late Patricia Mary (Carrier) Constantineau and Gordon Earl Spear.

A loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He is survived by his children, Tanya Dixon (Jeff) of Nackawick, Doug Jr of St. George and Cory Bastarache (Maggie) of Alberta, grandchildren, Bailey, Connor, Nicholas and Nola; his step mother, Myra Spear of St. George, his siblings, Wanda "Jeannie" Chamberlain (Joe), Nicholas Constantineau (Naida) and Maxine Justason (David); and nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by brothers, Tony and Dino.

Doug owned and operated his own towing business/garage and it was through this business that he was so well known in the surrounding communities for his kindness and desire to help others in their time of need. Regardless of the time of day, you knew if you called him and he could help, he was there!!!!! Helping others gave him great personal satisfaction.

He was a dedicated worker and when he took time for himself he enjoyed hunting, fishing, the freedom he received while riding his motorcycle out on the open road or cruising along the river in his boat. He was an avid lover of the outdoors and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Resting at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage Street, St. George (755-3533) from where the service will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Father Rolando Suplido officiating followed by interment in the Milltown Catholic Cemetery. Visiting at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. In Doug's memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society or a charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
