Lillias Marion Justason

1926-2016

Lillias Marion Justason
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of Lillias Justason, wife of the late Melvin Justason at the Kingsway Care Centre on Tuesday, January 26, 2016. She was born July 22, 1926 on Grand Manan Island to the late Otis and Cora (Fleet) Urquhart. Lillias lived on Grand Manan Island until the age of 10, when the family moved to Black's Harbour. She completed her schooling in Black's Harbour then worked for Connors Brothers in the Labeling Department for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Lillias was a very quiet and private woman who enjoyed her home. She liked to cook, quilt and sew but most importantly serving the Lord as a member of the Black's Harbour Wesleyan Church. Lillias was a selfless and giving person putting everyone ahead of herself.

Lillias is survived by her son, Richard Justason of Pennfield; daughter, Jane Ryan (Tim) of Saint John; granddaughter, Catherine Ryan and several nieces and nephews. Besides Melvin her husband, Lillias was predeceased by her brother, Gordon Urquhart and sisters: Naomi Richardson and Ruth Theriault.

Lillias remained in her home until she broke her hip in May of 2014. The family would to thank everyone who helped support and visit her at home until she could not stay home anymore. A heartfelt thank to Dr. England and the staff of the Kingsway Care Centre for the exceptional care during her last days. Also a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pinder and the staff of Passamaquoddy Lodge for the love and care shown her during her stay there.

Arrangements are in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George. At Lillias' request there will be no visitation or funeral service. A Graveside Service will be held at Pennfield Rural Cemetery in the spring of 2016. For those who wish remembrances to Charlotte County Cancer or the Black's Harbour Wesleyan Church would be appreciated by the family.

God saw her growing tired
And a cure was not to be
So He put his arms around her
And whispered "Come to Me"
With sadden eyes we watched her
And saw her pass away.
Although we loved her dearly
We could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands at rest.
God broke out hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
