Maria Ann Gravelle

Maria Gravelle 53, passed January 23rd, 2016, with her family and friends by her side. She was born July 11th, 1962 in St. Catharine’s, Ontario.

Maria was predeceased by her husband John Gravelle, Her mother Jackie Balasiuk, her niece Brittney and her beloved dogs Teak and Buster. Maria is survived by her son James Gravelle; sisters, Roberta Pettersson and Sonja Bastelak-Van Tassel (Jamie); her father Walter Balasiuk; nieces and nephews Brodie Smith (Ashly), Megan Pastelak, William Pettersson and her multiple cousins, aunts and uncles.

Maria passed after an intense battle with cancer. She was a long term employee of Canada Post and an avid volunteer in the Community, spending her time creating the Helmets for Hounds program for Saint John High School where her son played Football, she would also volunteer at the St. George Food Bank and the Elf reading program for children. Maria was a loving and caring person who would act as a mother to all.

Arrangements are under the direction of St. George Funeral Home, 26 Portage Street, St. George (755-3533) . On Saturday, January 30th, 2016 there will be a memorial service at the St. George Baptist Church Hall from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. All are welcome.
