Alexander Lyman  McCurdy
Unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Saint John NB on November 21, 2015, Alexander Lyman McCurdy, husband of Dora (Hanley) McCurdy of Back Bay NB. Born at St. Stephen NB on September 12, 1960, he was a son of the late Norman and Norma (Bell) McCurdy. A loving husband, brother, uncle and brother-in-law, Alex is survived by his wife: Dora; three brothers: John McCurdy and Darrell (Betty) McCurdy both of St. Stephen NB and Donald (Elsie) McCurdy of Back Bay NB; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and many extended in-law family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother: James; and sister: Pearl Bell.

Alex was employed as a Security Guard for GuardaWorld for a number of years. Over the years Alex held many occupations including furniture salesman at Parson's Furniture in St. George and he was also a labourer at Acadian Sea Plants in Pennfield. Alex was a people person and for several years was a Gas Attendant at both Main Street Irving in St. George and The Irving Mainway in Pennfield. There he enjoyed meeting new people and found it rewarding to give assistance to others when they needed it. He was an avid sports fan, especially hockey, and loved the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Cornerstone Tabernacle Church, St. George NB on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The service will be held from the church on Tuesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Stan O'Donnell and Rev. John Nickerson officiating. In Alex's memory, donations to the NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
