Vincent "Buddy" O'Neill Butler
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Vincent “Buddy” O’Neill Butler which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, November 13th, 2015. Born 1918, in Saint John, he was the son of the late John and Rose (O’Brien) Butler. Buddy worked for St. George Clothing and Footwear as a Sales Clerk for 31 years before retiring in 1989. He was a volunteer for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick.

Buddy is survived by his loving wife Dawn Marie (Thibault) of 17 years; daughter Ellen Rose Merrill (Elwood) of St. George; step-daughters Patricia Eagles (Bruce) of Riverview, NB, Susan Butler (Jim Taggart) of Ottawa, ON; step-sons Anthony Butler (Joanne) of Saint John, Robert Butler (Jennifer) of Bathurst, NB; brother Ronald Butler (Frances) of Saint John; 13 step-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents, Buddy was predeceased by his wife Mae MacVicar; brothers Edmond, Raymond, Eugene, Gerard, Earl, Raphael and Kenny; sisters Marie Smythe, Angela Humphrey, Rose Hackett and Grace Sharpe.

Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) with visitation being held on Sunday, November 15th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Peters Catholic Church on Monday, November 16th at 11 a.m. followed by an interment at St. George Rural Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Buddy’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
