Royce Johnston Curtis
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen NB on August 9, 2015, Royce Johnston Curtis, husband of the late Ferne Constance (Rogerson) Curtis, formerly of Leonardville NB. Born at Woodstock NB on July 1, 1928, he was a son of the late Johnson and Harriet (Gillis) Curtis. A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather, he is survived by one son: Stanley (Marlene) Curtis of Pleasant Valley PE; three daughters: Carlotta (Larry) Walsh of Saint John NB, Diana (Mike) Leblond of Deer Island NB and Wendy (Donald) Fox of Burton NB; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one niece and several cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, Royce was predeceased by two sons: Terrance and Royce Jr.; one half sister: Edrie Hansen.

Prior to retirement, Royce worked for the Department of Transportation where he was employed as a Truck Driver for 20 years. Royce was a truck driver by trade most of his working life and made runs all over the maritime provinces. He truly loved driving truck and enjoyed doing the garbage run on the island. He was a caring man who enjoyed helping his family and neighbours every chance he had. Near the end of WWII, Royce joined the Armed Forces Reserves and trained at the base in Pennfield. He was a member of the Deer Island Seniors and the Leonardville Church of Christ. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George NB. Resting at the Leonardville Church of Christ, Leonardville NB with visiting on Tuesday from 6-9 pm. The service will be held from the church on Wednesday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Conrad Cline officiating, followed by the interment at the Leonardville Community Cemetery. In Royce's memory, donations to the IWK or to a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to say a special and sincere thank you to the staff of the First Floor at the Charlotte County Hospital for all the kindness and compassion shown to their family in their time of need and sorrow. Your care and understanding will never be forgotten.
